Interviewing for a "Surprise" VP role!

Short version with Bullets:

  • Was "workforce reduced" from a Director's role 3/4 weeks ago
  • Wendii helped me spiff up my resume (what great feedback and patience) and...
  • TWTWT was kind enough to post me on the weekly (what awesome people)
  • I've been interviewing for a role that started as Director of Field Service but has now evolved into a VP of service and support...I was told this week it's down to me and one other person
  • Next week I'm travelling to the company location about 3 hours from me to meet the CEO in person (who I've spoken to twice via Teams) and meet 3 people who would be reporting to me (Directors of Field service, Call Center, Service Delivery)
  • I'm thinking about using some of the question suggestions in the book (The First 90 Days ... recommended to me by the gracious Cliff Kazmarek)
  • So the question that I have for the brain trust here is anything you can suggest to me as to questions to ask/conversation to be had while in a conference room with the CEO and these Directors?

Possible step up onto the executive learning curve:  Consider picking up Executive Tools if you've not done so already.  +1 from me on "First Ninety Days".
Questions about why the role, and why now;  past history from the org on what this role will address;  how the org has focused on this aspect of serving customers before, and how it sees this in future;  what results how quickly;  what support these three directs want/need to serve excellently in their duties, especially if not getting lots of it now.
