Digital Marketing companies in London

Following on from MM's advice this week about googling for business events in the location you want to work, I hit upon.... a lot of data. A bit too much really. I'm looking to move to London and join a digital marketing company there, and I'm just not sure what is and actually isn't worthwhile here. There's all kinds of events, some with few some with many people, some charging money some not... I'm just overwhelmed and not sure how this data is going to help me.

Does anyone in London know what a more specific search term(s) would be, to help me find events?

Just bumping this up.

I'm not necessarily asking for anyone who has knowledge about London: just anyone who knows how I can better define my search terms here.

I would just go by trial and error, adding more keywords to narrow down the search results. Try keywords about technologies that you want to use, some jargon from the job you want to do. You can also add the name of specific companies that you know already and maybe add the word "partner".
I suspect there will not be any turnkey solution for that search, London in a big place with a lot of things.

OK I guess you are looking for digital marketing in the blogging / engagement / twitter and even SOE sense of the term - right?

The Engine Group are pretty decent... http://www.theenginegroup.com

You will probably find that what you are after will be wrapped up in Marketing and Advertising still, so you will find a whole load of noise or you will find the niche players. As part of Engine are Jam, see below.

I'd be looking at reverse engineering these two web sites for how they market themselves in respect to keywords in Google and Bing - then look for similar companies showing up in their search criteria.

BTW, thanks for the feedback. Been away from the forums for a few weeks. Still no job yet, but this advice has been useful, cheers!
Mark's Chamber of Commerce advice hasn't worked for me, neither has finding professional meetups I'm afraid. But this "Related" tool is actually really useful. I've been using it to search for companies like the ones that have interviewed me so far - it gives me much more results for companies that I would otherwise have not stumbled across or heard about.

Cheers!
