The newsletter topic of Active vs Passive voice really hit me. 

"The charts are not complete." vs "We did not complete the charts."

I hear passive more than active.  One's tendency is to stick with the pattern in use.  Often, however, it is prompted by a passive question.  We need to also ask our questions actively - defining the voice of the response.

"Are the charts compete?" vs "Have you completed the charts?"

We can push toward the active voice from both sides of the question.

I agree, we can push at it from both sides.  And, it seems to me that everyone is ALWAYS talking in the passive voice (including me, frankly, sometimes).
