Skip Boss wants copied on meeting minutes from O3s

 All,

Today in a meeting with my skip boss I was asked to start sending both my boss and skip boss the minutes from my O3s to help keep them updated on the projects and other work my directs are involved with.

My gut says that this is the wrong way to go particularly regarding the personal information that is discussed in the O3s.

I am thinking that the right way to go would be to skim the notes to create a more work related update or try to instead send minutes from a weekly staff instead.

What is the general consensus of the group?

What they are asking for is a weekly project status report, which in my mind is completely different from raw O3 notes.  Do you have a weekly staff meeting where overall project updates are discussed?  Can that info be compiled into a deck of some sort?  Think one page/powerpoint slide per project, with whatever metrics and key points are relevant for that week.   Your team can compile that info and walk through the deck as one standing agenda item in your staff meeting.  I think that info and format would be much more useful to your bosses than raw O3 notes, which are going to be way more granular and less standardized than what I think they are asking for.

I think Maura's right: "help keep them updated on the projects and other work my directs are involved with" sounds like a request for a summary of a weekly staff meeting rather than your one-on-ones.
The weekly staff meeting is centered on work stuff, and that's what they're interested in. One-on-ones are about relationships.
