We will have our first NYC Manager Tools meetup on Thursday October 18th at 6:00pm.

I'd go over the Tappan Zee, then take the Saw Mill Pkwy south, to the Henry Hudson, down the west side. Barring accidents, that traffic flows pretty smoothly at rush hour (opposite the main flow). Under an hour drive, including the time to find parking.
Not sure exactly where we're meeting, so I don't know what you'd do when you hit midtown (but getting away from the west side before you get too close to the Lincoln tunnel is probably a good idea).

How hard is it (driving traffic-wise) to get into mid-town from Nanuet, NY area about that time?
I'm not from the area, but I may be able to arrange to be up at that plant site on that date.
