I LOVE to watch Undercover Boss! I watched the first episode... I don't always catch it, but it's always terrific. It's amazing what some policies put employees up against.

The scene that sticks with me is the female garbage truck driver who kept a jar in the truck because the "drive for efficiency" meant no time for a BATHROOM BREAK! Wow.

Our line workers often have to put up with a lot.  And, as managers we ought to KNOW what they're doing.  Some things are perhaps frustrating and can't be changed, but some things can be given a pass in the interest of decency, or just plain old reasonable-ness.

I was able to text all my DRs to "stay home!" yesterday when the city declared a state of emergency and asked the residents to stay home. But I felt bad for the 24/7 departments we have... they HAVE to be here to support the flight schedule.
I heard, though, that the company put some of them up in hotels. I'm glad of that.
